Angel Vagenshtein, who received the award of the Ministry of culture for his lifetime contribution, gave moral support to the protest of the American scriptwriters together with the rector of NATFA professor Stanislav Semergiev. While in Bulgaria and whole Europe the wrights are given to the authors of the movie – director, scriptwriter and actors, in the USA they are property of the producers. This is as well one of the reasons why the strike of the scriptwriters continues at full strength and threatens even the ceremony of the Oscars. Because of the strike the “Golden globes”, that usually is the second most glamorous ceremony in Hollywood was cut to the size of a half an hour press conference at the absence of the winners.

An excitement at the ceremony occurred when the rector of NATFA professor Stanislav Semergiev undressed and stood with a T-shirt. The print on the T-shirt was revolutionary – a pencil and a fist. So Semergiev joined the strike of the scriptwriters in Hollywood and invited others to follow. Vagenshtein even announced that he devotes his prize to the striking scriptwriters.
